
Q. Will we need to bring dishes and cutlery?
A. No we provide everything you need in the kitchen except consumables. Bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, etc.
Q. Is the tap water safe to drink?
A. Yes, Bay Lake is a very clean lake with a natural limestone bottom. In addition, for added purity, we have sediment and UV filtration system installed which will remove any impurities and bacteria. Nonetheless, it’s always a good idea to bring your own water.
Q. Will linens/towels be provided?
A. No. We provide blankets, comforters, and pillows, but you will need to bring your own bed sheets, pillow cases, kitchen towels, bath towels, etc.
Q. Can we bring our pet?
A. A Dog is welcome but please be respectful of our cottage and future visitors. We ask that dogs not be allowed in the bedrooms or on furniture. Remember to remove all animal hair and PLEASE POOP & SCOOP. Please leave other pets at home, thanks. FYI – both of the neighbouring property owners have dogs.
Q. Can we smoke in the cottage?
A. No, we ask smokers to smoke outside. We are adamant about this request. Please dispose of butts in the cans provided or the firepit only.
Q. Is the lake water nice to swim in?
A. Yes, it is a beautiful clean lake.
Q. Is there a shallow area for young children?
A. Our shoreline provides 2 swimming areas each with a dock. The square dock on the west side of the property has a sheltered sitting area and shallow flat rock where smaller children can splash around while supervised. Beyond the rock shelf and dock, the depth drops off rapidly and is great for diving in the water. Our north dock also features shallow water and is a great spot to launch your watercraft.
Q. Is there good fishing on Bay Lake?
A. Yes, the lake has very good fishing -Bass and Lake Trout.
Q. Should we bring our own life jackets?
A. Yes. We do provide a limited selection of life jacket sizes. (4 A, 2 Y) However, for your safety, we ask you to bring your own life jackets, as they will fit you properly.
Q. We want to bring our own boat up. Is there a marina nearby where we can launch it?
A. Yes, there is a boat launch on Bay Lake. For boat rentals and servicing the nearest marina is the Paudash Lake Marina on hwy 28, approx. ½ hr before you reach Bancroft or Baptiste Lake to the North also offers boat rentals.
Q. Should we bring our food up with us or buy it up there?
A. We have a large No Frills supermarket in Bancroft 10 min. from the cottage so you can either do your grocery shopping there, or bring groceries with you. The town also offers a beer/liquor store, hardware, fast food chains, video rentals and hospital to name just a few of the amenities – all within 10 minutes.
Q. Are we going to love the Cottage?
A. All of our guests so far have expressed to us that their stay was amazing! You tell us.
Q. Is a Boat, Canoe or Personal Watercraft included with the Cottage ?
